A great read and nice recipes.  Rip’s book especially appeals to those who enjoy participation in endurance sports.  It gives new meaning to the phrase, “Run and not be Weary”

Aside from Dr. Kenneth E. Johnson’s book, none of these Doctors and Scientists comes at this from the angle of the Word of Wisdom.  Ironically, they and those who have chosen to modify their diets in accordance with their findings may well be enjoying greater health than many of us who have had access to the code of health which was given to us by God himself.  Traditions with which we have been raised and the general beliefs of the society in which we live may make what is plainly stated in the Word of Wisdom difficult to accept and even comprehend.  We can each humbly pray for the gift of discernment to determine for what is right for ourselves and our families.  For me, these books have proven very valuable in helping me to better understand the Word of Wisdom and to have the courage and determination to make changes in how I choose to nourish myself and my family.
