"Run and not be weary,.... walk and not faint"

Again with the Word of Wisdom....about the promises...

In verses 18- 20 of the Word of Wisdom, we read:

18  And all saints who remember to keep and do these sayings, walking in obedience to the commandments, shall receive health in their navel and marrow to their bones;

20  And shall run and not be weary, and shall walk and not faint.

I am a runner. I love running and I hate running. Mostly I love running.  I love the way I feel after a good workout.  I feel like I can conquer the world, or at least I perhaps have enough endorphins coursing through my veins to make me be a happier, more well adjusted human being. But about conquering the world...when I think about running and not being weary,  I can't help but think that obedience to the Word of Wisdom and feasting of a variety of nutritious fruits, vegetables, whole grains and legumes will give me an edge over my former meat eating self when it comes to athletic performance.

All of these examples serve to encourage my "endorphic, dream big" thinking and make me think that maybe, just maybe, a combination of sheer determination, hard work and healthy habits will get me qualified to run the Boston Marathon in 2013...Who knows? I just want to test myself and find out.

In an effort to document my hopeful journey to Boston, I have ventured to begin another blog:
